.....

The bad guys in books! they're all so stereotypical! Even in the good ones! (though lord of the rings gets creativity points for the floating eye dealy)

Most of them are men! just plain and simple! Look, sauron/saruman, Saint Dane, Cluny the Scourge, Voldemort, Samus, Dom Daniel, Count Olaf, James, Prince Humperdink, Count somebody from the Lioness Quartet, Makepeace/Nuada, Jon Spiro, King Galbatorix, Long John Silver, Adderhead, capricorn, . Just off the top of my head! And a few of these dominate whole series's with their evilness. I'm not even counting movies. BTW vampy books and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes books in general get a pat on the back because they do NOT have this typical evil bad guy. oh and in like most Alex Rider books they have these guys. i won't name them all.

and then theres the women evil people. Something they all have in common is they're young, beautiful and fashy or old and have like warts or something. Usually they're all like Julia Rothman from Scorpio, fashy and rich. tyyyppiiicall and they're carry out their plans in a sing-song voice, checking their nail polish as they order people's deaths. not cool. But they're definitely not as much of them as all of the stoopy men.

I ADMIT I AM EVEN GUILTY OF THE TYPICAL EVIL GUY STEREOTYPE. I have Methusalah, who is the leader of... well... the Assassins of Methusalah or whatnot. and I <3 him. Everybody needs an EXTREMELY manipulative, persuasive, old, cloaked, smart, sadistic guy leading their assassin cult-thing. I mean this guy is OLD, i think he has be carried to his little throne dealy every day by two people. anyway, i'm trying to break some stereotypes on this guy. I sort of think enough of my other bad guys are different enough.

and then theres the evil people in realistic fiction. two rules apply. they need to be the same gender as the main character/protagonist and the same age or older than them. noof seyad.

disclaimer: there are many exceptions, don't get me wrong.

anyway. guys have completely dom'd over politics, get them the heck out of being the only antagonists (the coolest people in books anyway) i'll ever get to read about.

Daemons

in response to seeing emily's post

So yeah, I saw the golden compass too last night and i think it would be awesome to have a sparrow as my daemon. They're so cute! and pretty! and they're a bird! And not the kind that are used to flying far away, but only fluttering from place to place. that's why an eagle or hawk wouldn't be as great, they could fly but not more than a few yards above you.

I took a few quizzes online because I was bored. One said a snake, and the other said a black cat. because "cunning and wild. You tend to be into everything! (And sometimes you get in trouble.) You shy away from people that are loud and outgoing and consider you better than them, because silence is golden. You black fur matches your humor and view on life. Things are best when they aren't sugar coated and you tend to be pessimistic. Often misunderstood or mistook for a rebel or hell raiser, but you're just trying to be an individual. You like to watch more then to be seen. Your friends tend to be like you and other people bug you. Actually, people in general bug you." I love that one a lot, it tends to be pretty accurate describing me. And I don't think you could be allergic to your daemon.

Weird music, random post

I'm just going to post about random things. Well nothing happened during lunch today, because it was the day of rest and we didn't even have knowledge masters.

So my brother got this cd from his friend that I doubt he has even heard, but I took it and am obsessed with a few songs on it. One is really weird, and I don't know why I like it so much. I wonder if you can send nicotine through speakers. That would explain it. It's a bit too screamy for my liking. But considering I like it, I'm being a bit contradictory.

Science today was a nightmare as usually, we got like a billion hand outs and a bunch of homework. The science teacher was being just as stoopy and our homework assignments were stoopy too. I hate predicting things about something that I don't know about at all. Like... lima bean seeds? We did the freaking seed lab last year!!! Once again, it's stoopy! We were just like "it's going to have 4 3 mm leaves and it's going to be shorter if there's less light." Yay. So I raised my hand like for 5 minutes and the teacher told us to hold our thoughts till the end. So in the end people started asking questions and she answered so I put up my hand again, she ignored it and went on. So I walked up and asked her the question (a bit more angrily than necessarily, but she wouldn't notice if somebody yelled in her ear.) "how are we supposed to find a newspaper article about light and color?" and she was like "there could be one about lasers... or... yeah." and I was pretty pissed so i was like "so we just hope that a newspaper article is posted about lasers?!!" and she was like "you find one" so I whirled around and sat back down. But I seriously didn't think she noticed how angry I was.

Our math teacher told us about when he was swimming with sharks and pretending to be a pirate in math class. He put his white board marker in his mouth. But he didn't fulfill his promise to do math stealthily in honor of Ninja Day. It was more of a review day. He's awesome. And during work time we got just about every family guy episode summarized by the guy who sits next to me. It was really weird, not to mention distracting.

Yeah... ummm. I finished New Moon! omg@theending. It was erm... surprising!! But it wasn't the kind of ending where you're like "nooo" and are sad. It was just like "holy crap! okay!" Oh, E2, you know what I'm talking about. There's going to be a Twilight movie coming out. I can't imagine the book making a good movie. No way.

Genesis is awesome! And less weird than the other stuff mentioned! Yay!

Ummm. I think I'm done. Yeah pretty much. Okay.

Ahhhhh, sleep

I just got 11 hours of sleep. Usually I want to be woken up at 9:30 so this doesn't happen and so that I'll be able to sleep the next night. I'm not too worried about it, I only woke up at 10:17. Ahhh, I love Thanksgiving Break. More than life itself. Actually Winter Break is like the highlight of each year, but i won't get too ahead of myself.

I saw this gruesome movie two nights ago with my neighbor. Ok so we thought it was a sweet childrens/teen type fairytale in english. So no, it was in spanish and we had to use the english subtitles (but that was pretty fun, because you forget that you're using subtitles after a while and I kept on hearing all of this stuff that I understood.) And it was like rated R. There were so many scenes where I could look. The bad guy is the main characters un-biological father, who is this Spanish facist leader that is trying to wipe out these guerilla rebels hiding in the woods. This guy is worthless... I mean ruthless! The whole time we were rooting for him to die. IT WAS SO SAD AT THE END. IT MADE ME WANT TO CRY (note, I didn't!) But OMG it was sooooo depressing!!! Talk about not-happy endings! maybe if a child was watching it, they wouldn't understand why it was so sad, but I did! /Buckets of tears\ Anyway, it was called Pan's Labyrinth. I don't understand why it's "Pan's labyrinth" because the name Pan never turned up in the whole thing. I perfer the spanish title which is something like La Labyrinthe del Fauno. Ironically, it makes a lot more sense.

I finished both books that I got on friday. Hmmmble. What now?

Kwano, you'd probably like one of them "Define "Normal"" but there's swearing in it. It's this realistic fiction book where these two girls become friends through this peer counseling program at school. It's pretty cool.

I biked to my music lesson yesterday. It was really awesome because it was all misty and cloudy and cool. biking for the first time in a long time while listening to pumping music really gives you a rush. It's like totally so fast!! liekzomg.

Anyway... I'm done..

Alright...

So... I don't have anything to say so I'll just write about random things.

During SS today we just had presentations the whole day and i already did mine. I had no respect for well over half the people who presented (believe me, it's their own fault) and the teacher wasn't looking so I read five chapters of my book during class. The book I'm reading is Wyvernhail, fifth in the Keisha'ra series. It is so hyptonizingly hard to put down. I read in under my desk during all of the presentations except for the two girls who sit next to me's. So I'm not going to give anything away about the book but it's so dark and complex. It's a lot different then a story that's like "i ate lunch, I wore these clothes, I talked to that person then walked to this building" it's a lot more thought, politically and emotional based.

I have lots of homework errgh... okay nvm i've exhaustedly that topic.

I have a stoopid communication class taught by a teacher who just about makes me want to tear my own head off. oh em jee i'm too thtupid to comonikat. uhhmmm... wut??/?

Yeah...

Soooo... bout this one story....

I am at loss of ideas for this part of this one story. The story's (rough draft) name is Eshebasi Calling of something along those lines. (this is another thing that I made up last year, like literally a year minus a week ago, that I'm restarting and reobsessing over. This is actually like my only tie to sanity cuz i'm so busy. I haven't written much of it at all but in classes when i can zone out i've plotted some of the plot.)

I'll put it reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyyy simply and roughly this way (if you die laughing at me I will beg you to forgive me) So there's the main character, Rena or somebody who grows up in thredan w/mother. Mother is part of the (under concern of sounding cliche and weird) elite/royal gaurd (called the Mercy, but that's a whole nother story) of the Royal family and specifically the heir of the city across the ocean, Eshebasi.

The mother is only on temporary leave (I don't know why) from her job and will return to Eshebasi w/her daughter when her daughter is like 17 or something.

Getting to the point of this post, the tradition of Eshebasi(ans?) is at a certain age just below coming of age, maybge around 17 (hint hint) a child escapes from the jurisdiction of the parents for one month. This is made to broaden your experiences, opportunities and meet new people your age. Eshebasi has few written down rules and mostly relies on the queen/empress/silverlady's word to who has to be thrown in jail. So there are little restrictions from the law unless you happen to fancy committing treason or starting a riot (to phisoa: it might not be a good idea to petition the royal house either. that's probably treason). After this month is up you will be expected to work for the Mercy, so don't blow your job either.

So the question here is, if you had a month to do what ever (and everything) the heck you wanted, what all would you do? (there is some, but minimal magic most revolving around Eshebasi, you have basically unlimited money, but for food, shelter etc. not for like buying your own castle. this is medieval setting. Go crazy.)

Stuff...

So... I'm going to scrape up some things to post about. Pardon me if my capitalizing of letters is lax, but i'm on the laptop and the shift key is really a lot shorter than the key on my actual computer keyboard so instead of shift i keep on hitting the up button and it screws everything up.

So i read like a billion extremely awesome books last year for the first time and now i'm rereading them and enjoying them all over again. So I picked up Hawksong at the library. I got obsessed with it last time i read it and now i'm obsessed with it again!! Even more, I went to the author's site again and i found out that she had another book in the series come out, this september! (it's not at the library yet ;_;) But the last book that i've read from the series was more than a little bit of a disappointment at the end... and more than sufficiently awkward... I can only hope this new book is less so.

So I started hawksong like the day before yesterday (reading it only before i go to bed, and i'm trying to draw it out) and i'm so close to the end i'll probably finish it tonight. Then i'm most likely gonna end rereading the whole series (minus the second book, the second book was subpar).

I'm also reobsessed with one of the stories that i started writing last winterbreak. It's called Prisoner Exchange (<3) style="font-style: italic;">Favorite band: Pink Floyd probably overall but right now i'm most obsessed with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (don't worry, i laughed at the name too, but it's really just good alternative with a tiny bit of emo. not like whatever the name implies) and Radiohead (psychotic alternative).

Favorite Song: As of right now, The View, Weapon of Choice, Bury Me With It or Shine. But overall maybe Dogs, Wish You Were Here, Beautiful World.

Favorite Class: Non-existent art. But otherwise... umm probably Social Studies. Yes, definitely SS.

Anyway, it's late and i'm going to bed.

Zomg Inkheart!

So i was on the library website an a random link was Cornelia Funke's website so I went there and INKDEATH IS COMING OUT SOON (like around oct. 21st!!!) and i totally predicted the title! yaaayyyzzzz.

Not only that but I found pics from the upcoming inkheart movie. Complaints: Meggie is too fashy, Farid looks like a girl, Dustfinger doesn't have red hair and Elinor looks like a gyptsy. Here's the link.

http://www.corneliafunke.de/en/film/film-116.html

Dustfinger looks good though, even though he's not how he's described in the book and moe is perfect!
