That's something to (not) consider...

God, sometimes i just wish i could take advice given to me by one 'ER' "why don't you just move out an live in an apartment" Yes, very wise advice indeed, given to me by the wise man on top of the mountain. So now i have the laptop in my room, which is helps immensely. I go downstairs for mostly food related reasons or to leave the house or go to the basement, or if i have friends over. But otherwise, it's sometimes not a good idea. First of all, its a mess. The house is usually a mess. sometimes/usually i take initiative (perfectionism? ocd, not really.) and clean up the kitchen or living room. Maybe my family can live with living in a mess but I can't. My mom complains that i am in my room too long and she wants to "see me" but errg! why should i go downstairs just to be "seen". Another reason not to, is i'll go downstairs and "oh look, maggie's there, she must be available to do whatever, can you take the load out of the drier and fold it? oh look, the dog wants to go out, can you load up the dishwasher?" "i was kinda just getting dinner in the middle of-" *person walks away* "... my essay?" so pathetically, some of my food trips end up being very covert operations. HA

Pros of having my own apartment:
~ cleanliness! yay! And only my stuff would be around, it wouldn't be so clogged up. I think i could have it pretty organized with only a bit of organized mess.
~ no nagging. nuff said.
~ it's not like i don't already make my meals, make my shopping lists, do my laundry, clean my room/kitchen. now all i need is to be paid for going to school lol. (i love how impractical this is, see, i admit it)
~ no noise pollution. my house is relatively quiet, but that would always be nice.
~yay! (yes, that is a logical reason.)

So my mom doesn't see why i can't just use the lappy in the computer room? un disastre! no me gusta! en tus suenos! it is inhabited by a teen age boy, what do you expect. WAIT now that i bring that up, why don't they bug my brother?' he has less homework, they like never ask him to do the stuff that i do, never nag about not seeing him (he's in the computer room on the first floor, but it's not like they ever go in to "see" him) and he's messy and sometimes whiney! (but a cool person anyway...) but this is unjust! Ugughlhghl (noise of disgust and... ugh)

So... do I have anything else to complain about? Heh... sorry about that you guys. Oh! I've been saying that i feel like a nazgul and all that jazz but now i'm happy! I feel not tired! I almost got 10 hours of sleep last night because i methodically planned that I was going to "accidently" sleep through my alarm. When ever I have 10 or less hours of sleep between two nights then i have to start taking evasive action! in other words, i skipped band. yay! i'm not a nazgul anymore. I'm a person. I'm so proud... ....

good night. i'll probably be a nazgul again tomorrow but i usually manage to hide that unpleasant fact.

what the hell??!

Warning: I wrote this really fast. oh my god, reading this over is making me laugh, but i refuse to retype it in a civil way.

So it's actually like T-shirt weather at a steaming 33 degrees (not kidding, it was very sunny) but because of windchill, and the fact that it was 33 degrees, I wore a sweatshirt. To the park. I walked to the park. God this post is going to be crappy. I dunno i'm on the adrenlinish blast that you get after seeing an action movie. Action movies are awesome. But i'll get to that later. So I walked the park and it was a freaking sauna and the park was very pretty. I wanted to take pictures of all of the pretty things I saw but didn't have the camera with me. The coolest things were what I just decided to call Squirrel Highways, little trails between trees that squirrels and other small animals seem to develop. I guess one will go that way, and another follows and soon all of the small animals are taking the paths of smallest resistance through the snow, which are were their brethren have trod before. So I saw one linking like 5 trees in all, it was so awesome. you could see all of their little paws. And then i decide to go check out that big open area behind the park because it's always really pretty and it's covered in ice and snow. So I hang out there for a while and it was really pretty and then I look over at the other side of this mini channel. There were a bunch of trees there and I was remembering visiting these two willows with my neighbor last spring.
I remembered that we called on mushroom willow because it had a bunch of mushrooms on it. Mushrooms, I mean willows are my favorite trees. And for anybody who doesn't know my ex-favorite tree/willow was cut down in the spring of sixth grade. It was really awesome because you could climb in it and it had a bunch of memories and willows are awesome. But anyway, I look over at the trees. And I realize that none of them were willows. AND THEN I SAW THE STUMP it was amazing that I could have missed it. That I could have missed the smell. Or the sight of the somewhat fresh (it was sort of orange colored) stump stuck in the ground with a pile of fresh shavings sitting next to it. I stood there for like three minutes with my hand over my mouth before I realized I was somewhat suffocating myself. So I went over and sat on the stump and was fuming. THEN I SAW THE SECOND STUMP Augh!!!! it was the two willows that I remember!! Both!! they were both cut down! i can't believe I didn't look for the second one when i noticed the first one was cut down. There was also this huge area between the trees with a bunch of willow shreddings. The smell was so sickening because it reminds me of the carnage of my own willow. Dead willow isn't something that you forget. Sort of like how I can't forget the smell of the strong incense and flowers they had at my grandpa's funeral in first grade. So that freaking pissed me off and was a huge surprise. I wrote RIP Willow in the snow on both of their stumps and left. But I brought some of their twigs home.

So afterwards, on a much happier note, I went to see Jumper. Two of my cousins canceled so it was just me, my dad, my aunt and my cousin. But it was really good. I enjoy action movies, like i cannot be a tough critic on action movies. Some people might call it garbage, but I was entertained, I was into the plot. I can enjoy like any movie as long as it's meant for a slightly mature audience and isn't trying to funny when it isn't. I hate "haha i'm dumb isn't this a funny movie" movies. But yeah, in my humblest opinion Jumper was an awesome movie. OH HA! The male lead was played by Hayden Christiansen, who was really good (he was Anikan in the 2nd and 3rd movie, but don't judge him by that) and I think that he should have been Edward instead of Cedric diggory (ick). And the girl that is going to play Bella in twilight was in the movie! she made a brief appearance at the end. Just long enough for Hayden to be in the same scene at her and for them to glare at eachother hostily for a second. That was such a funny coincidence. I think she'll be a good bella, btw.

Numbered

This post is going to be orderly numbered. because i feel orderly and numbered today.

1. first of all i'd like to give a big cheer to today, which was one of the only a-days that didn't make me want to a. tear my own hair out. b. sob uncontrollably into a random passer-by's shoulder. c. go on a homicidal streak. d. curl up into a ball under my desk with my hands over my neck. (think of the tornado protection position.) I felt like I learned some stuff in science (LE GASP) and math (maybe that's because i paid closer attention than usual. by a rule of thumb, you only need to listen to .4 of the stuff that math teachers say to get an A-B, on average.) Band, which was looking like a dark and bleak horizon seems okay now. i did my playing test and i got a 90, which pisses me off but i won't go into details (my anger doesn't have to do with the fact that i got an A-, i don't give a ****) LRT, we watched all of the photo stories and they made the annual "scare people out of being in enriched classes" speech. Basically it was like "don't join enriched language arts unless you want all of your grades to suffer, your family to die, never to sleep again, and to go into tax debt." and "don't join enriched physics unless you want to get cancer, lose a limb, become clinicly depressed and lose all freetime". I've decided that i'm joining both. goodbye cruel world. anyway, that was a looong #1. my day wasn't bad. it was productive.

2. Math was rather funny today, there were just a couple of funny things people said.
-Ninja turtles: somebody asked the math teacher what his favorite artist was and he said maybe De Vinci. then somebody told him that it couldn't be de vinci because that was a ninja turtle. he was surprised to hear that and even more surprised, and furious to hear that all of the ninja turtles were named after artists. his response was. "my god. Oh my god! Oh my god!" and you could hear all of the christians in the class muttering "gosh... it's gosh" so many people hissed that it sounded like a nest of snakes.
-Compartments: Phisoa and mira will get this. Somehow the topic got to counting cards in Vegas and a girl in my class was like "gosh, that would be really hard to count them. you'd need like, different compartments in your brain to sort the information" I almost cracked up. compartments in your brain to sort information? that sounds familiar. Oh and also, the guy next to me was like "not unless your Adrian Monk" and everybody started talking about Monk, which is awesome.

3. I beat like Delirium on ITG (a harder version of DDR) on hard. yay! God, ddr is my winter sanctuary. and i forgot about it till know so it feels so nice again. I haven't run around (or something of the like) since gym class. Running around outside on the ice and snow while wearing so many layers that you feel like a marshmellow, in winter boots=no. maybe some of you guys can, but i'd probably break my neck.

4. I'm just adding the grace notes to my solo for solofest. I like it, surprisingly. It's Serenade by Jos. Haydn. (sound familiar? he was the answer to one of our AT questions the first meet i think.)

5. Speaking of AT, that was pretty awesome. though they are so frikkin paranoid this year. they didn't let other teams in to look at our meet, a parent had to be in the PARTY room to make sure we didn't commit arson, no running(what ev.s), etc.

6. I finished the collage in art. that was awesome. now we get to make fonts.

7. that is all. good day.

insert title here

Well winterfest was fun, even though I almost had to be dragged there, it was totally worth it. on those brief and luckily swift journeys into the dance room, i once again began to lose faith in the future of humanity. people just scare me. also edina day scared me, actually. people are told that a certain day is "city spirit day" and they all dressed up! all of them! remarkably few exceptions! And apparently, I have no spirit, i'm dressed in emo clothes and "you guys are so weird!" Whatever. maybe i can't argue with those.

today me and mira went to ragstock just to look around and see what kind of clothes they had and we both got new hats! not that they'll ever replace our "british caps". Mine is sorta really dark blue/green/black plaid. Anyway, ragstock is cool, but shopping still sorta sucks X]

On friday we used the Bunsen burners (yay, fire!) and we kept on ruining the flame in the attempt to get the "cone effect" right. So basically, by the end we had vented so much gas that we were all feeling sort of light headed, (great day to have the math quiz next period, I think i screwed up one of the proofs because i forgot a theorem). Oh, and I asked the science teacher what kind of gas it was and her plain and quite intelligent response was "It's gas."

we're doing a freaking documentary in LRT about ourselves. i do NOT want to show my stoopy, intelligence-challenged, mainstream-obsessed LRT class anything about my life. we have to have like 10 events. My life is like boring in the way that nothing extreme has happened to me. Maybe i'll make up some injuries that i got. "yeah, then i was in a bike crash and i fractured my... esophagus." There's just nothing interesting! I have 3 /10 right now. The only good part is that you get to add your own music to it. but it has to be clean. that's challenging.

I <3 start of the quarter. there's like no homework! hallelujah!

I miss the sun almost as much as the rain!

Le sigh, this is the first time that i've ever wished that it was not winter, when it was. Except for maybe some times in March. because March is pretty sucky. you get a whole crap load of wet snow, when you are totally tired of winter. But anyway, it's been too cold to walk long distances, even in marshmellow quality clothing and even sled because you don't want to be in so much contact with the snow. It takes very attractive weather to lure me outside when i have things that I should be doing (hint, i should be doing spanish studying) so there's like no chance of me going outside while it's this crappy weather. But now it's like practically tropical! 23 degrees! And so I check the weather forcast and am totally surprised! Here's the forcast for monday:

Monday: Light rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon. Precipitation may start as some sleet or snow. High 38F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%. High 38 Low 3.

Woooooahhhh! Just as I was thinking "god i miss spring/summer/fall because it rains" i think this is some sort of karma thing. But I wasn't really hoping that it would rain in winter, because, i mean, what kind of weirdo would wish that? It's going to melt the snow, and when it freezes again (we're back in the negatives right after this. look how far apart the high and lows are) there's going to be a slick of ice everywhere. I don't know whether it will actually rain, but that would be interesting.

As for me uncharacteristically missing the sun, i guess i should just drink some sunny-d and suck it up because we're not about to get any sunny warm front until like may.

I just saw Harold and Maude which is just as depressing as it is funny. I love it.
I'm reading/listening to Amulet of Samarkand. I just love the bartimaeus trilogy too. It's not too often that I can crack up on my science homework instead of throwing up on it (that's how bad it is. vaaaguuuueenneesss) and when i do, i must be listening to Bartimaeus :D

Hmmm, what else to I "love"... that would have to by Wyvernhail. I'm getting obsessed with it all over again. I want to make like a billion high-qual portraits of the characters from the series with quotes from the book by them and all. Instead i'm drawing lizard-horses. (yay)

I sorta pirated my dad's camera for a bit and took a few pictures to post on dA, I'm really pleased with one that I tried to take of the moon-bow and lilly :D

Speaking of lilly, it was soooo sad and pathetic! She got stuck on a rug in the kitchen again. Let me repeat that, she got suck on a rug, again. Not physically stuck, mentally stuck. She will timidly try to step off, like she's on really slippery, really thin ice, always keeping at least part of her back feet on the rug, then quickly retreat, no matter my "come here! good girl! come on! it's okay! you're really sad and pathetic!" This has happened twice in the last month and a few times last summer. Sigh. lets add something to her list of fears i guess.

1. Toaster
2. smoke alarm
3. us leaving
4. storms/rain
5. car rides
6. baths
7. nail clipping/hair trimming
8. kitchen floor

why do i have such a neurotic dog?

.....

The bad guys in books! they're all so stereotypical! Even in the good ones! (though lord of the rings gets creativity points for the floating eye dealy)

Most of them are men! just plain and simple! Look, sauron/saruman, Saint Dane, Cluny the Scourge, Voldemort, Samus, Dom Daniel, Count Olaf, James, Prince Humperdink, Count somebody from the Lioness Quartet, Makepeace/Nuada, Jon Spiro, King Galbatorix, Long John Silver, Adderhead, capricorn, . Just off the top of my head! And a few of these dominate whole series's with their evilness. I'm not even counting movies. BTW vampy books and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes books in general get a pat on the back because they do NOT have this typical evil bad guy. oh and in like most Alex Rider books they have these guys. i won't name them all.

and then theres the women evil people. Something they all have in common is they're young, beautiful and fashy or old and have like warts or something. Usually they're all like Julia Rothman from Scorpio, fashy and rich. tyyyppiiicall and they're carry out their plans in a sing-song voice, checking their nail polish as they order people's deaths. not cool. But they're definitely not as much of them as all of the stoopy men.

I ADMIT I AM EVEN GUILTY OF THE TYPICAL EVIL GUY STEREOTYPE. I have Methusalah, who is the leader of... well... the Assassins of Methusalah or whatnot. and I <3 him. Everybody needs an EXTREMELY manipulative, persuasive, old, cloaked, smart, sadistic guy leading their assassin cult-thing. I mean this guy is OLD, i think he has be carried to his little throne dealy every day by two people. anyway, i'm trying to break some stereotypes on this guy. I sort of think enough of my other bad guys are different enough.

and then theres the evil people in realistic fiction. two rules apply. they need to be the same gender as the main character/protagonist and the same age or older than them. noof seyad.

disclaimer: there are many exceptions, don't get me wrong.

anyway. guys have completely dom'd over politics, get them the heck out of being the only antagonists (the coolest people in books anyway) i'll ever get to read about.
